Responsibility

POLB is one of the busiest container ports, moving ~ $100B in cargo annually & supporting 316K+ jobs in Southern CA. The Cybersecurity Operation Center (CSOC) oversees cybersecurity architecture, threat detection & response, data protection, and IT security tools & policies. ​

Challenge

The POLB’s CSOC had not been modernized since 2010 and required significant upgrades to address today’s evolving threat landscape and rising cargo volume. ​

Solution

After installing POLB’s SOC back in 2014, having a clear understanding of Activu and vis/ability’s capabilities, the Port reached out to Activu modernize its CSOC. The CSOC now features a high-performance, operator-focused design.

The upgrade includes:​

  • 5×2 video wall
  • 85-inch auxiliary display, and
  • 8 operator consoles equipped with multiple monitors. ​

Result

Activu and vis/ability are helping the POLB advance towards its 2050 goal of doubling its cargo throughput, ensuring it can handle increased volume safely, efficiently, & sustainably. It now operates a state-of-the-art CSOC that integrates all their monitoring tools and enables a faster, more unified response to threats. ​
