Responsibility
King’s College SOC is responsible for maintaining a safe campus environment and ensuring the security of students and staff. Campus Police provide a safe campus environment, enforce campus security policies, offer safety training, and act on reports of suspicious activities.
Challenge
King’s College needed to create a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC) that could serve dual purposes 1) Support campus safety operations 2)Provide hands-on cybersecurity training for students. The solution needed to maximize performance while staying within budget.
Solution
King’s build a dedicated SOC in one of its classrooms, featuring an 8×4 LED video wall powered by vis/ability. The solution reduced the expected hardware footprint and expense, while delivering high-performance visualization, enabling the College to support many students and security staff efficiently—within budget.
Result
King’s cybersecurity program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning and real-world projects. The new SOC expands student exposure to tools and workflows, preparing them for careers in security operations and threat analysis. At the same time, Campus Safety and Security gains enhanced real-time “vis/ability” and faster response—strengthening campus safety
